Thermal image of water damageThe first step is clearly to make sure the source of the water is fixed or eliminated. But that is just the beginning of the process when there is water damage. We use thermal imaging to monitor and diagnose the condition of your buildings; this allows us to quickly find problem areas that won’t be seen with the naked eye, and thus eliminating other detection methods that could be destructive. The results are instantaneous, giving us an immediate idea of what kind of damage your building has sustained.

There are three levels of contamination when there is a leak. Category 1 includes water from clean sources such as pipes, sinks and toilet bowls (without waste). Category 2 covers water with some contaminants, such as from a dishwasher, washing machine or toilet with urine. Category 3 includes water that is unsanitary and can cause severe illness or death if ingested, such as sewage, floodwater from rivers, toilet water containing fecal matter and standing water with microbial growth. Determining the level of contamination will also aid us in deciding on a course of action for your water damage restoration.

There are several reasons our water damage cleanup and restoration services are important. If you don’t have the problem rectified quickly, there could be structural deterioration, growth of fungus mold spores and long-lasting odors.

Once we have analyzed your building to determine what kind of water damage has been done, we will begin the water damage cleanup and restoration process. All standing water will be removed and all surfaces will be dried, including interior walls and subfloors. We will also pull up carpets and padding and save them when possible. Once the floors are completely dry, any needed repair work is performed. We will then dehumidify the premises so that there is no mildew, mold, odor or airborne particles from the excessive moisture. The last step involves decontaminating and disinfecting the site to kill off any bacteria.

It’s not just the walls and floor you have to worry about when you have water damage, though. Large items, such as furniture and electronics may have been damaged. We can help you decide which of these items are worth repairing and keeping, and what should be gotten rid of. We can also help you document any items that can’t be saved so that you can give a list to your insurance company.

As a business certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, the industry watchdog, we have formal education both in restoration and health and safety. We also continually go for training so that we are current, and we are insured. With those qualifications and our experience, wouldn’t you want us to take care of your property when there has been water damage?
